What this is

Photo Editing Prompts is a reference library, not a tool. Every entry is a plain-language prompt you can copy and paste into ChatGPT to edit a photo you have already uploaded — turning a snapshot into a clean headshot, restyling a product shot, or repairing an old print. Each prompt spells out what to keep, so the edit changes what you asked for and leaves the rest of the image alone. The site curates practical photo editing prompts rather than operating an editor or image-generation service.

We organize prompts by the task you are actually trying to do, using the words people use when they search for them — not abstract categories. The editorial focus is usable prompts, honest limitations, and clear task organization. The library is intentionally small. We would rather publish fewer prompts that work than a long list we have never run, and the site avoids bulk-indexing low-value prompt pages.

Why we made it

Most prompt collections are either thin SEO pages or sprawling dumps of untested text. Neither helps when you have one photo and a specific edit in mind. We wanted a quiet, well-kept reference that reads like a field journal: each prompt annotated with what it does, what to preserve, and what tends to go wrong.

The site is a side project, maintained by hand. That shapes everything below — we keep the scope tight because we test what we ship.

How we work

Three principles guide what goes on the site:

• We test before we publish. Our standard is that a prompt only ships once we have run it ourselves and seen it produce a usable result; if it is unreliable, we note that rather than pretend otherwise.
• We generate our own example images. Public images are generated or owned by the project. Any example image we publish is one we generated ourselves for that prompt — never scraped or reposted from someone else.
• We take no paid placements. Nothing on the site is here because someone paid for it. There is no sponsored prompt, no affiliate ranking, no pay-to-feature slot.

What we don’t do

We are not an image editor, a generator, or a marketplace. The site does not process your photos and never sees them — the editing happens inside ChatGPT, on your side. We do not sell prompts or gate them behind an account. If that changes, we will say so plainly on the relevant page before anything ships.
