№ 84 · RESTORATION
Repair, don't regenerate: a do-no-harm restoration clause
№ The prompt
Edit this scan in place — do not regenerate it as a new image. Repair only the damage that the surrounding pixels can actually support: clean scratches, dust, and creases by continuing the neighbouring texture, and rebalance fading. Do not redraw faces, re-render the scene, or replace any region with a freshly generated version. The output must be the same photograph with its damage repaired, not a new picture inspired by it. If you cannot repair something from the surrounding detail, leave it as-is.
№ How to use it
Input
A scan of the damaged print at the highest resolution available.
Preserve
Only real, supported detail; unsupported areas stay unreconstructed; the photo is edited, not regenerated.
Avoid
Regenerating the photo as a new image, redrawing faces, or replacing regions with generated detail.
